Halloween / Day of the Dead celebrations - Where is the best place to buy Day of the Dead Mini-Ears ? When and where will the best DOTD celebrations be happening ? What is the best Mexican themed restaurant to eat in ?

    ¡Bienvenido!

Welcome back to planDisney. We're thrilled you've stopped by with another fantastic Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! It sounds like you'll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth this fall, and I'm happy to help guide you to the Día de los Muertos festivities. Consider me your own personal alebrije!

Adam, while most of the Día de los Muertos celebration happens at the Disneyland Resort, the Walt Disney World Resort does acknowledge this Mexican cultural tradition, most notably at EPCOT. In the Mexico Pavilion, you'll find an impressive building themed after an Aztec pyramid, and inside, the décor and ambiance make every day feel like a Day of the Dead fiesta! The Mexican Folk Art Gallery pays tribute to the Disney/Pixar film, Coco, with displays, experiences, and information about the origins of the Mexican celebration. This is also a great spot to shop for authentic Mexican souvenirs, as well as Coco-themed merchandise. Adam, I'd be willing to bet you could find a great pair of Día de los Muertos ears here. (Otherwise, I'd check out Creations Shop, the merchandise mega-store located at the front of the theme park!)

While no specific announcements have been made yet, it's possible that additional Day of the Dead festivities could be taking place at EPCOT during your visit. I recommend checking with a Cast Member once you arrive at the theme park or keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for any exciting information! While you're in the Mexico Pavilion, I recommend stopping to snap a photo with El Pato Donald (Donald Duck in his festive fiesta best!) just around the corner from the Aztec pyramid. You could also enjoy the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros while you're in the area!

Adam, my favorite table-service restaurant in the Mexico Pavilion is La Hacienda de San Angel. This indoor restaurant offers a reprieve from the Florida heat as well as phenomenal Mexican dishes and drinks! Not to mention, this location overlooks World Showcase Lagoon with beautiful waterfront views. If you book a reservation during the fireworks, you may even have a spectacular view of EPCOT Forever, right from your seat at the dinner table!

I hope you've found this information helpful, Adam. I'm wishing you safe travels and a wonderful visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any additional planning questions, feel free to stop back by planDisney again anytime. We're here to help you make magical memories at the Walt Disney World Resort!

    Adiós amigo,
