Hi Charlie, welcome to planDisney!
Your late October arrival puts you in the dead center of the spooky season at Walt Disney World Resort. Mickey jack-o-lanterns line Main Street, U.S.A., and
ghoulish delights trick and treat the taste buds. On select October nights at Magic Kingdom Park, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the place to be for exclusive experiences like Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade and Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular.
It is absolutely possible to experience Halloween and Christmas at Walt Disney World Resort on the same trip. Traditionally, the transition from Halloween to holidays at Magic Kingdom Park takes place overnight after the last Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of the season. Cast Members haul out the holly and put up an impressive display of wreaths, garlands and, of course, trees! It takes a few weeks for the holiday transformation throughout the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs to be complete, but an early November departure will certainly give you more than a taste of The Most Wonderful Time of the Year at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
This year, back-to-back visits allowed me to experience Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party within two weeks. Note that attendance at these parties requires a special event ticket, which is separate from a general admission ticket. Also note that Magic Kingdom Park closes early on party days, so it's smart to consult the party schedule when planning out your park days and making your
theme park reservations. During my visits, I also got to see the iconic gingerbread display at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa go from under construction to fully operational.
You are destined to have a spooktacularly merry visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Charlie. As your travel dates approach, the planDisney panelists would love to answer all of your questions about the various seasons of celebration.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
