Hi! Are the Halloween activities at Downtown Disney & Fort Wilderness only on the couple of days leading up to Halloween? We will be at WDW Oct. 19-25th & were wondering if it is available to do then or if we will need to do MNSSHP. Thanks!

Hi Shawn! I am a huge Fort Wilderness returning guest and come every year so we are staying over the Halloween holiday.

The special activities are indeed just the few days surrounding Halloween.  The 2012 dates have not been set yet and with it being on Wednesday this might change a bit so that you will see some activities starting the weekend before but in the past it is just on the holiday and the day or two before.  To be sure of getting some great Halloween partying I would indeed book yourself for the great Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom during your stay.  This is a favorite of many guests and such fun to come in costume and trick or treat all night!

If you have time take the trip to Fort Wilderness and see the amazing decorations that guests bring along and set up during their stay.  Some are quite sophisticated with computer generated sounds and movements. Others are whimsical and cute!  They also offer the Haunted Carriage rides during the month of October and this will surely bring a scream or two out of the mouths that dare to ride!  Well maybe more laughs then screams but it is a fun event to book ahead and experience.
