Hi Elizabeth,
Welcome to planDisney! Staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel adds so many great perks to your vacation, and
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is genuinely one of the most unique options available. From the serene natural surroundings to the charming rustic vibe, it’s the perfect place to unwind while still being close to the parks. On my most recent visit, I had an unforgettable time at the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue—the food was fantastic, and we couldn’t stop laughing at the show’s humor. It’s an experience worth checking out if you haven’t already!
As for your question, while Fort Wilderness doesn’t have a dedicated fitness center with rowing machines, there are still some great ways to stay active during your stay. The resort features beautiful
jogging trails that wind through the property, offering scenic views and a tranquil workout option. If you want to replicate a rowing workout, you might want to rent a kayak at The Bike Barn at the Meadow Recreation Area and
rent a kayak. It’s a fun way to get on the water and work those rowing muscles!
For other workout options across Walt Disney World, I recommend heading to
Disney’s BoardWalk early in the morning. The loop around Crescent Lake is perfect for a brisk walk or run, and finishing up with a coffee or pastry from
Carousel Coffee is a delightful way to treat yourself after the effort. After my first experience at the
runDisney Marathon Weekend, I completed my first half marathon and then spent the rest of the day exploring EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. Between all the walking and attractions, we added another 13.1 miles to our day—so staying active is achievable while on vacation!
If you have any other questions as you plan your visit,
feel free to stop back by. We’re always here to help!
See you real soon!
