Hi Marc, thank you for bringing your question to planDisney.
Walt Disney World prides itself on inclusivity, all are welcome. There are many different types of rides, with seating designed to meet the diversified needs of Guests. I am confident that your son should be able to enjoy many of Disney's magical attractions.
Some rides, such as
Avatar Flight of Passage in Disney's Animal Kingdom, have an example ride vehicle outside the queue so that Guests can test their accessibility and comfort before waiting in line. Other rides may require stepping down (or up) to enter or leave the ride vehicle. The unique
safety and accessibility guidelines for every ride are available through
My Disney Experience. If you have any questions or need help on your visit, please speak to a Cast Member. They are truly a large part of what makes Walt Disney World trips so magical, and I know they will try their utmost to appease any need.
Walt Disney World trips typically involve lots of walking. And I mean miles. If you think your son may travel these distances with greater ease on an
ECV (4-wheel electric vehicle), they are available to rent daily at all the Parks (including the water parks) and Disney Springs. If you're hopping to another Disney park, you can show your rental receipt to rent another ECV, if available.
I like to remind Guests that Walt Disney World is about so much more than rides. The immersive atmosphere is magical, and the shows and Cast Members are outstanding. I know that you and your family will make unforgettable memories together - and for our family, this often has nothing to do with the (admittedly spectacular) rides.
I will be right here, Marc, if you need more information ahead of your Walt Disney World trip. Louise
