Hey there, Sarah! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. I'm excited to see that your trip to the
Most Magical Place On Earth is only about a month away and I bet you are too.
Due to the current nature of things, you are correct, there are restrictions in place when it comes to eating and drinking while at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. I know that it may sound taxing, but it's simpler than you might expect. When eating and drinking there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you must be stationary and physically distanced from other people. You can be tucked in a corner, sitting on the curb of Main Street U.S.A, benches, tables, etc. are open for use. Basically, anywhere you'd normally eat while at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks is still available, you'll just want to make sure you're a bit more spread out. The second thing to remember is unless you are at a designated relaxation station, you must be
actively eating or drinking to remove your face covering. If you are wanting to take a break from your face covering but are not hungry or thirsty, look for the relaxation stations set up throughout each of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. These areas are designed with tables that are super spaced out giving everyone enough space to safely remove their face coverings and well, relax for a bit. You can also bring food and drinks to enjoy in these designated areas but you don't have to.
Currently, you'll find Relaxation Stations are set up in:
Magic Kingdom Park - Tomorrowland Terrace - a good one to be able to see some of the pop-up character cavalcades from afar.
- Golden Oak Outpost in Frontierland - refill your popcorn bucket nearby with delicious caramel corn and enjoy.
- Pete's Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus - if it's a warm day, this is the place to go. It's air-conditioned!
Disney's Hollywood Studios - Near Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - this is close to where you'll check in when your boarding group is called.
- Star Wars Launch Bay - this one is inside and air-conditioned.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park - Pizzafari - you can grab a bite to eat here or just relax at this centrally located spot.
- Upcountry Landing in Asia - this is near UP! - A Great Bird Adventure and is situated right on the water where you might catch a glimpse of a water cavalcade from your seat.
Epcot - Yorkshire Country Fish Shoppe - some of the seating for this Quick Service Dining location has converted into a relaxation station. I highly recommend grabbing an order of fish and chips and enjoying it down by the water. It's a great meal and a pretty view.
- Akershus in the Norway Pavilion - inside and air-conditioned.
- Future World - between two great attractions, Test Track and Mission: SPACE.
So as you can see, you'll have a lot of choices for when it comes time to take a break from your face covering, so no worries there! I do suggest packing some chap-stick in your park bag. My lips seemed to get very dry on my last trip and I think it had to do with not sipping water all day like I normally do and having my face covering on all day.
I hope this helps, Sarah. If you have any other questions, please come back and ask!
