Hi Guys, Okay we promised our daughter an awesome Disney birthday this year...then my husband and I got laid off...so we are on a tight budget. We need to make a $1000.00 go big for a 3 day vacation and to make it extra awesome for the birthday girl. help!

    Hi Mischelle,

I'm sorry to hear about your financial difficulties and hope that I can steer you in a budget-friendly direction. First, I would visit www.mousesavers.com for the best Disney vacation savings tips!

I would stay off-site in an inexpensive hotel.

Choose 2 parks to visit using two days at the Magic Kingdom and one day at Animal Kingdom, Epcot, or Disney's Hollywood Studios. Look into Florida Resident discount tickets.

Plan one special meal with a birthday cake  (six inch non-personalized cake costs about $21) while at WDW and then dine inexpensively for the remaining meals. Bring granola bars, etc. for in-room breakfasts before heading out to the parks.

Get the birthday girl a FREE birthday button from the Magic Kingdom's City Hall Guest Services desk.

Best wishes for a magical birthday!
