Hi guys! We are looking to book Garden Grill for breakfast. I am gluten free so I know I will be provided with a suitable menu. My Hubby is allergic to cinnamon, will there be a suitable alternative for him instead of the cinnamon bread? Thanks!

    Welcome BACK, Natalie!!

It's so good to see your name pop back up in our system because that means you're planning another amazing vacation to Walt Disney World Resort! I hope you're gathering cute vacation photo ideas for this return trip; something my family now does is recreate some of our favorite previous pictures. It's so much fun to note the similarities and differences as the Imagineers grow the park, but also even more fun to see how much we grow and change as well.

I'm so excited for you that you're wanting to visit Garden Grill! I love starting an Epcot day with breakfast here. Not only is Mickey still in his morning gardening clothes, I'm pretty sure he and his friends plucked everything in the fruit bowl themselves from the indoor garden in the attraction below. Did you know that the restaurant slowly revolves and passes by a few scenes from the Living with the Land attraction? Definitely add this boat ride to your schedule of activities because a lot of what's served in the Grill comes from the Land!

As I'm sure you've experienced in your previous visits, Disney Dining locations do an amazing job when it comes to catering to special dietary needs. Most locations do have several substitution menus to accommodate almost a dozen pretty common allergies, intolerances and even religious requirements. The allergy to cinnamon is a bit more specialized so an alternative may not be always on hand. But! Disney has a plan in place for cases like this. When you make not only this but all of your dining reservations, do note the allergy in the location where it asks. And since this an uncommon allergy, you'll be able to work with someone from the Special Diets team to find a suitable substitution, like maybe using nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice in place of cinnamon, or in the case of this breakfast you might even be able to suggest a few different kinds of pastries that your husband does like and they'll see what they can whip up. Their email is Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com and when you email them, include your reservation conformation information.

I do want to ask how severe his allergy is; is he fine being in the same room as a cinnamon roll and he only has issues when it's consumed, or can he not even dine on plates that have previously come into contact with the spice? If the latter is true, I have a few alternative character meals that might be worth considering. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is in the Norway pavilion of Epcot's World Showcase, both Trattoria Al Forno and Cape May Cafe are connected to Epcot's World Showcase via a 10 minute walking path between the UK and France pavilions, and guests dining at both Chef Mickey's and 'Ohana can quickly get to Epcot thanks to the Monorail.

Thank you so much for stopping back by and asking another great vacation planning question, Natalie, and We'll See You Real Soon!
