You guys are such a help to me! One more question. I'm getting mixed information on-line. Is there a washer and dryer in the 1 bedroom villas at Bay Lake Tower? It would indeed be magical if there is. Tips on bringing or buying detergent? Thanks again.

    Hi Jill,

I'm so glad that you are finding the Disney Parks Moms Panel to be helpful. We love helping guests in planning wonderful vacations, and it means a lot to know that we are helpful to you! My family and I love staying at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. There are washers and dryers in the one-bedroom villas at Bay Lake Tower. As you point out, it is positively magical to have a washer and dryer in your villa. I love being able to bring down a small amount of clothing and then just wash a load every couple of days. It helps to keep the suitcases lighter!

Housekeeping will leave you a starter box of detergent when you arrive good for one load. Typically this a powder and is often Tide brand. If you require more, you can call housekeeping and purchase them for a small fee. Additionally, you can purchase laundry detergent at Disney's Contemporary Resort in the shops in the Bayview Gifts area. There are also vending machines for laundry detergent in the laundry rooms at Bay Lake Tower and at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

If you are considering bringing detergent from home, I really love Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets. These sheets contain detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheet all in one flat sheet. They are super convenient! The problem is that they have been discontinued by the manufacturer; however, if you search for them online you can still find some outlets that have them in stock. You also might consider All Mighty Pac detergent. While these are liquid, they are little pods of detergent that you toss in with your laundry. You could take a handful of those in a tightly sealed plastic container in your suitcase and be good to go.

I hope this gives you some good options, Jill. Have a wonderful trip, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
