You guys are great! How is Old Key West? I have read a lot of conflicting reviews-some very negative re:old, dingy, uncomfortable beds, mildew smell, bad food & then some very positive-help!! We are afraid to spend the $$ & be so disappointed!! Pl

Hi, Allison! I've stayed in Old Key West twice and loved both experiences. It is the oldest and original Disney Vacation Club resort. Yet, Disney is known for keeping things fresh and up to date, and this resort is no exception. We liked the laid-back feeling of the resort, and the villas are huge! (The kids even noticed how much bigger the one-bedroom villas were as compared to the other DVC resorts in which we've stayed...and we've stayed in them all!) I liked the big laundry room and the quiet view of the golf course from our large screened-in balcony.

Our family also enjoyed all the activities scheduled by the pool during the day, and the availability of games and rentals. We even rented a pontoon boat and cruised the waters. Olivia's is a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner (try the Key Lime Pie), and we found the resort convenient to most areas and the bus transportation reliable.

If at any time or for any reason you are unsatisfied with your Disney resort room, you should always contact a front desk manager and explain the situation.  They will certainly make things right or move you into more acceptable accommodations, and if not, continue your quest until you find a guest-minded manager. I hope this has alleviated any concerns you may have. Old Key West is a fantastic resort, and I think you'll love it. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
