You guys are great! We'll be at Caribbean Beach with our 18 month old and 4 year old and our flight leaves at 6:15 on 10/13. Will we be able to hang around the resort after we check out of our room? I'm hoping for a relaxing last day - any suggestions?

Yes you can absolutely hang out at your resort  In fact, you can charge to your room account until midnight even after you’ve checked out. Here’s what we did on our last stay:

I went to the Resort’s Front Desk and got my airline’s boarding passes printed out.

We checked out of our room by 11 a.m. (the official check out time for most resorts).

Note that you can always try to ask for a late check out.

Before vacating our room, we called Bell Services to take our luggage to storage. We kept a day bag with necessities such as swim wear and a change of clothes for the airplane. Then, we went to Downtown Disney to do some last minute shopping.

Upon our return to the resort, we went to Bell Services to retrieve one piece of luggage in which we put our purchases. Then the bag was returned to storage. Next, we filled up our refillable mugs and headed to the pool. We had a late lunch relaxing at our lounge chairs.

About ½ hour before we were due to be picked up (allow more time if needed), we got changed into our traveling clothes, got our luggage from storage and waited for our transportation.

You’ll be given your Magical Express pick up time the day prior to your departure. It is almost always 3 hours before your flight’s departure time. This allows for 1 hour to get you to the airport. The Orlando International Airport recommends that travelers arrive the airport 2 hours before their flight.

The Caribbean Beach Resort is a perfect place to hang out for the day. Sleep in a bit, have a leisurely breakfast, take the kids to the sandy beach and let them work off some energy at the playground. Then head to the pool for fun and relaxation. Your day will probably fly by much quicker than expected. With your 6:15 p.m. flight, Magical Express will probably be picking up your family around 3:15 p.m. Unfortunately the last day at WDW seems to fly by all too quickly!
