You guys have been so great answering all my question for our 1st WDW trip in Sept. My sister is coming with her 2 & 5 yr. old too. What is the best (1) table dining experince for them that her kids will actually stay sitted & enjoy?

    Hi Genalyn!

How exciting that you're planning your first visit to Walt Disney World and visiting with extended family!

Several recommendations come to mind that will keep your littlest ones entertained and happily sitting still throughout a meal.

I'd first recommend the 'Ohana Best Friends Breakfast, with Mickey, Lilo & Stitch at Disney's Polynesian Resort. Characters visit you at your table, your meal is brought to your table family-style and Stitch provides some entertainment with his antics. There is a point in this meal where kids may be invited to 'parade' around with the characters - which provides just the little bit of 'controlled' leg stretching required to keep the kids happy enough to return to their seats afterwards ;)

If the kids in your party are all 'girls,' my other top recommendation would be Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot. Here, again, your meal is brought your table family style at breakfast, or by ordering from the menu at lunch or dinner. There is a small 'appetizer buffet' of cold salads and Norwegian fish dishes at lunch & dinner time that requires getting up from the table but so much for the children in the party. Disney Princesses visit your table throughout your meal for autographs and photos.

A couple of other great 'pre-school' dining experiences include Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom with Winnie the Pooh and Friends or Hollywood & Vine at Hollywood Studios for Disney Junior Play 'n' Dine at breakfast or lunch time - however both of these meals are buffet style and involve a lot of moving around the restaurant.

On the non-character side, I think the most entertaining meal where you must remain seated throughout is Teppan Edo in Epcot's Japan. Here you are entertained by an engaging Teppanyaki chef as your dinner is prepared before your eyes.

Wishing you a Magical time at Walt Disney World Genalyn!
