Hi there, Tanya!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney. I am happy to answer your question about sailing on the Disney Cruise Line with kids! My little ones are always sad to disembark from our Disney Cruises. They are unlike any other vacation!
I have good news! You kids will not want to leave
Disney's Oceaneer Club and
Disney's Oceaneer Lab, the complimentary Youth Clubs for kids between 3 to 10 years old available on all Disney Cruises. Disney's Oceaneer Club is usually open from 9:00 a.m. to midnight, although times are subject to change (and often do for select Ports of Call and Open Houses). Check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app on your mobile device after boarding the ship to see what time Disney's Oceaneer Club will host an Open House. This usually happens on embarkation day and allows parents to explore the Youth Clubs with their kids before dropping them off later. Parents are only allowed inside the Youth Clubs during Open House hours.
Disney's Oceaneer Club is always my kids' favorite experience on the Disney Cruise Line! I typically drop them off after breakfast (food is not currently served in the Youth Club), and then my spouse and I relax in the
Adults-Only Area, get a massage, or dine in
Palo (an 18+ restaurant that serves a divine brunch). Everyone is happy! We pick them up for lunch and then head to the pool for the afternoon.
If your cruise visits
Disney Castaway Cay or
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, you can also check your children into the kid's area on the islands. These island Youth Clubs are staffed by the Disney Cruise youth counselors, and the onboard Youth Clubs are usually closed at these ports. My kids can't wait to explore the kid's water areas at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. They look like so much fun!
Tanya, I hope you find the perfect itinerary for a family vacation. You won't regret it! Please reach out to planDisney again if you have additional questions!
Happy sailing!
Jen
