Hi, Vicki!
Fountain View was one of my family's must-do stops when touring Epcot, especially on a hot summer day; with refurbishment underway, it's time to branch out and find those frozen specialties elsewhere. Luckily, we have lots of choices!
One not-to-miss shop for ice cream is
Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop at Downtown Disney. Take a look at this post about
Ghirardelli on Disney Parks Blog, and you'll see one reason that this is such a popular place: hot fudge made daily in the shop. (Skip dinner; you'll need the room!)
Epcot has opened a new location to find sweet frozen treats:
L'Artisan des Glaces, in the France Pavilion. (Unlike Fountain View, however, you can even enjoy a shot of Grand Marnier, vanilla cream vodka or Rum on your two scoops, served in a martini glass.) While in Epcot, stroll out of the park (via International Gateway) to
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney's Beach Club Resort; order The Kitchen Sink and be prepared to share. (It can satisfy a family of four...or more.)
Magic Kingdom, of course, features fantastic sweet treats at
Sleepy Hollow Refreshments and Disney's Animal Kingdom is always more fun after a stop at Safari Ice Cream Kiosk. Disney's Hollywood Studios offers ice cream at Hollywood Scoops and great shakes are available at Min and Bill's Dockside Diner.
Send more questions as you think of them, Vicki; we love to help!
