so many guide books and websites say that you should avoid the parks with the extra magic hours because that park will be most crowded that day... how do you feel about this? if its too crowded to enjoy, id rather pass. thanks & congrats 09 moms and da

Hi Tarah - thanks for the congrats!  I would agree that extra magic hours definitely seem to make a park more crowded.  On the other hand, it's a fabulous opportunity to get more time out of your vacation.

Here's how I recommend handling morning extra magic hours.  If you have a park-hopper ticket, and can be awake, out the door, and standing at the turnstiles by opening, then do it.  Keep in mind that only certain attractions are open during the extra hours, so make sure those are attractions that you are interested in.   Then, when the park starts to get crowded, leave and visit another park (one without extra magic hours).

In general, I think evening magic hours do cause a park to be more crowded, but usually after lunch.  So, you may just want to visit in the morning, and in the afternoon, leave for another park.

If you do not have a park-hopper ticket, then avoiding the park with extra magic hours is probably your best bet to avoid the crowds.
