i have 5 guests wanting to stay at port orleans riverside. Do i need to book a preferred room or are all the 5 person rooms in the same place. How much will we have to walk to bus, Husband had a stoke last year.

Rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of Port Orleans Riverside can sleep five guests, including one guest on a small trundle that pulls out from under the bed.  The trundles are small, and will really only comfortably sleep a young child.  That said, it is not necessary to book a preferred room as your party will automatically be assigned a room that will accommodate all of the registered guests.

All of the rooms are located within comfortable walking distance of a bus stop (roughly a five minute walk or so).  If you feel as though your husband would benefit from a wheelchair, you can certainly request one.  A limited number of wheelchairs are available at each Disney resort hotel.  You can get one by inquiring as to availability at check-in.  There is a $315 deposit, charged only if the wheelchair is not returned.  Availability is not guaranteed; if you wish to secure a wheelchair, your best bet is to rent one from a local company.  Have a great trip!
