    If we are guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort, do we need Magic Bands?

    Hey there, Dean!

    MagicBands or Admission Cards are needed for all guests who are staying at a Walt Disney World resort and/or going to one of the 4 theme parks. 

    While staying at a Walt Disney World resort, unlocking your resort room can only be done by using your Magic Band or an admission card. Disney is so magical that traditional room keys won't open the magic inside your resort room. Without your MagicBand or admission card, there is no way for you to come in and out of your resort room. 

    If you decide that a MagicBand is something you don't want to use, be sure to log into your My Disney Experience account and decline the complimentary MagicBand that comes with your resort reservation. A few weeks before your check-in date, be sure that you have received your admission card through the mail. If you haven't gotten them, call 407-939-1936 and speak with a Cast Member.

    *Pixie Dust Pointer-The new MagicBand 2 gives you various ways to wear besides on your wrist. So, if you want a different way of sporting your Disney gear, you can wear it around your neck, on a keychain, or in your pocket.
