Will guests staying at AKL-Kidani be allowed to use the Uwanja Camp area while the Samawati Springs area is closed Jan-April 2022 or will Uwanja Camp be closed as well?

Jambo, Shelly and welcome to planDisney!

Shelly, just consider me (and my fellow panelists) the Zazu to your Mufasa, ready to serve as your trusty guide!

My family and I stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village just this past August and loved the atmosphere at this resort. It's almost as if you've been transported to the heart of the Pride Lands. From the color scheme to the music playing in the lobby and of course, the amazing animals on the savanna, this resort is truly a wonder and I hope your stay has you singing, "Can you feel the love tonight."

Now, Shelly, a large part of our last trip to Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village included pool time, so I'm happy to chat about the upcoming refurbishment. I spoke with a Guide at Disney Vacation Club Member Services who let me know that currently the Uwanja Camp area is neither officially listed as part of the refurbishment nor is it omitted. Shelly, unfortunately at this time it does mean that we are unsure if it will be available during your travel dates. Since there is a strong possibility the Uwanja Camp area will be unavailable, I encourage you to plan to visit the Uzima Springs Pool located at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Jambo House

During our last trip my family and I visited both pools and while you'll add a few extra steps by heading over to the Uzima Springs Pool, all of the antelope in my herd (oops, I mean family members in my traveling party) loved this option.

Shelly, thanks for stopping by with your question and I hope to see you hEAR again at planDisney with any other questions you might have.

Wishing you "no worries for the rest of your days!"
