Ahoy, Beatrice! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for sailing over with your Disney Cruise Line question.
Port Adventures are a fantastic, stress-free way to explore new ports of call during your sailing because Disney Cruise Line will handle all of the logistics for you. As you know, you can book your Port Adventures when your
advance booking window opens, which is determined by your
Castaway Club membership level or status as a concierge guest. If you are a first-time guest, then the advance booking window opens 75 days prior to sail date, but the earliest advance booking window opens 130 days prior to sail date for concierge guests.
Since Disney Cruise Line does not require payment for Port Adventures at the time of booking, the costs will be charged to your
onboard account and will be covered by whichever payment method you select during the Online Check-In process. Generally, the cost of a Port Adventure is charged to each individual guest’s account, but certain excursions are charged a single price for the entire group. For those types of group excursions, the full cost will be charged to the onboard account of the primary guest who books the Port Adventure and they will be financially responsible for the total amount. That means that you will need to make your own financial arrangements between the members of your sailing party to cover each person’s portion of the cost.
If you visit the Guest Services desk onboard, then you can ask to apply another form of payment to a particular guest’s account, including a different credit card, Disney gift card, or cash. Just be aware that onboard accounts may be settled during the cruise when certain amounts are reached or in the middle of longer itineraries, so payments should be made on embarkation day before the card on file is charged the full amount.
I hope that your entire sailing party enjoys whatever type of Port Adventure you have planned for your upcoming cruise. If you have any other questions before setting sail where magic meets the sea, then we are always here and ready to help at planDisney. Happy sailing!
