Hi Fred! Welcome to planDisney.
My family just returned from a wonderful visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. We stood on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Park and watched joyfully as
Happily Ever After lit up the night sky with fireworks again after a long pause, and it was so special to share that experience with fellow Guests and Cast Members. While there are certainly some changes in the theme parks and resorts as the phased reopening continues, my family still had the magical time we have come to expect.
At this time,
Disney Park Pass reservations are required for each Guest age 3 and older to enter a theme park. We don't have an end date for the theme park reservation system, and the
availability calendar goes into 2022. For October, some dates already have limited availability, likely because
The World's Most Magical Celebration for Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary begins October 1, 2021. My advice is to purchase tickets and make Disney Park Pass Reservations as soon as you can for an October visit.
As for capacity, that's a secret that's kept as closely as Elsa's snow powers at the beginning of Frozen. Official theme park capacity numbers and percentages are not released, but Walt Disney World does share their comprehensive operational guidance so Guests can understand the health and safety measures in place and plan carefully for their vacations. I encourage you to read the
Returning to a World of Magic webpage to learn more and decide what is comfortable for you and your family.
October is going to be a spook-tacular month for a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, Fred! Between the happy haunts that come out to socialize for
Halloween and the
new experiences that are coming with The World's Most Magical Celebration, there will be so much to see and do. As you plan and dream about a visit this fall, please come back and see us if you have any further questions.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
