Hi David,
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for your question. Guests staying at
Shades of Green are part of a very special community. The Armed Forces Recreation Centers (AFRC) Resorts are reserved for members of the U.S. Armed Forces, their families, and other eligible individuals. Since staying at Shades of Green means you meet those criteria, I’d like to personally thank you and your family for your service and sacrifice. It would be an absolute honor to help you plan a practically perfect visit to
The Most Magical Place on Earth.
As for your tickets, yes, you can purchase
Walt Disney World theme park tickets directly at the Shades of Green Ticket Office. You can also buy them in advance through the resort’s official website or even at your local military base. That said, I highly recommend securing them before your arrival if possible. Doing so will allow you to make Lightning Lane selections through the
My Disney Experience up to seven days before your check-in date. If you haven’t used Lightning Lanes before, they’re a fantastic way to maximize your time in the parks by reducing your wait for some of the most popular attractions. Being able to lock in those selections ahead of time is a huge advantage and can make a big difference in how much magic you can experience each day.
Dining reservations work a little differently. While Shades of Green is not considered a Disney Resorts Collection hotel as it is not owned by Disney, you’ll still receive some of the perks, such as being able to make dining reservations 60 days before check-in, for the length of your stay (up to 10 days). To take advantage of this, make sure you’ve downloaded that magical app and linked your reservation through “
My Plans.”
I’d love to help you further as you map out the details of your trip. If you want to
send me a follow-up with the specific restaurants you're hoping to book, I’d be more than happy to help you prioritize which ones to reserve first and suggest a few hidden gems that don’t require reservations. I can also take a closer look at the available
Lightning Lane options during your visit and help you come up with a plan to stack return times efficiently so you can see and do as much as possible.
Thank you again for your service, David. It’s truly been an honor and a privilege to assist you. I hope to hear from you again real soon.
See you real soon,
Brent
