Hello, S!
Welcome back to planDisney! I am excited to answer another question from you! I can understand the importance of eating safely with a severe gluten allergy, as we have many food allergies in our family. One of the many reasons that we love visiting
Disneyland Resort is that our family has enjoyed countless safe, delicious meals in the theme parks!
I am happy to share that most table-service restaurants have gluten-free options in my experience! When I last dined at Wine Country Trattoria, they had gluten-free pasta dishes made with corn and rice flour. Some other entrees were also gluten-free, and sorbet is the typical allergy-friendly dessert. Just notify the Cast Member at the restaurant about the allergy and ask for the allergy menu.
In the past, Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta also had gluten-free pizza and pasta. When I have ordered from their allergy menu, I noticed it took a little longer for the chef to prepare that dish compared to the other items we ordered. This is generally true anytime I place an allergy order, as the restaurant kitchens have specific processes to handle allergy-related meals. I recommend allocating extra time for all meals so you are not worried about missing plans you have scheduled right after eating.
Many other restaurants often have tasty gluten-free options, as well. Carthay Circle usually has spectacular food with a variety of allergy-safe choices. Sometimes they have a gluten-free chocolate creme brûlée that is to die for! Oh, and I cannot forget about my favorite restaurant at Disneyland, Lamplight Lounge! They usually have delicious allergy-friendly dishes!
Did you know you can add
allergy information when making a dining reservation? After you select the restaurant and date/time, you will be taken to a page where you can add dietary requests. Select "edit" and choose the relevant allergies. Although I always note our allergies on our dining reservations, I also notify the Cast Member about the allergies as soon as we are seated. Additionally, I usually ask to speak with a chef or the Special Diets Trained Cast Member if I have any concerns about the food choices.
There are also a lot of great snack choices that your party may be interested in! The IncrediCookie is a Gluten-friendly Jam-filled Cookie at Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums. Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars, popcorn, pickles, and Pixar Pier Frosty Parfaits are all potentially gluten-free treats. I recommend asking to see the ingredient list before consuming anything.
Allergy menus can change at any time based on ingredient availability and other factors, and Disneyland cannot guarantee that any item is completely free of allergens. This is why it is important to speak with a Special Diets Trained Cast Member upon arrival at any dining location. With that said, my family has safely eaten at Disneyland many times over the years, and we will continue to do so!
S, I hope this information was helpful. If you have additional questions about dining with food allergies, feel free to

Wishing you a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
