Hey there, hi there Thomas! You're always welcome as can be at planDisney. I'd be happy to assist a fellow Mouseketeer today.
Hot dog! As one of Mickey Mouses's closest neighbors in the Sunshine State, you're eligible for some
fantastic discounts and specials. My parents recently became part-time Florida residents, and we've spent the past year getting to know the ins and outs of redeeming ticket offers.
Did you know that you can verify your residency status on
My Disney Experience before finalizing your ticket purchase? If you do this, you're all set to go right to the theme park entrance as soon as you arrive. If you didn't do this, you can show
proof of residency and activate your tickets at a ticketing window outside of a theme park, the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs, or the Transportation & Ticket Center.
While you can't take care of this at your
Disney Resort Hotel, you're likely not too far from a theme park entrance,
Disney Springs, or the Transportation & Ticket Center. If you're staying at a resort in the
Magic Kingdom area, just hop on the monorail and get off at the Transportation & Ticket Center. On a recent stay at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, my parents and I walked there to activate some tickets they had purchased for my children.
If you'll be in the
EPCOT resort area, walk, take the
Disney Skyliner, or board watercraft transportation to either
Disney's Hollywood Studios or the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT. Both locations have ticketing windows, and the EPCOT entrance isn't usually crowded. If I ever need to visit Guest Relations during a visit, it's my first choice. If you visit the Disney Springs location, be sure to enjoy some shopping en route to the Disney Ticket Center and pick up a sweet treat at
Gideon's Bakehouse or the
Ghiradelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop on your way out.
I hope this is helpful, Thomas! Best wishes for a smooth verification process and a wonderful visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth. We'll see ya real soon!
