When does guest relations (city hall/CoC) open/close for the day? My GF is hard of hearing and will be borrowing AL and captioning devices. We need to know when to return it by so we don’t lose the $50 refundable deposit needed to borrow it. Thanks!

Hey there, Drew. A very warm welcome to you from all of us at planDisney. Thanks for stopping by to ask us this question. My husband and I love how accessible Disney makes his theme park visits. My husband (who is blind) uses Disney's Handheld Device to enhance our visits together and I'm delighted to answer your question and share our experience.

Drew, you will be pleased to learn that the hours of both City Hall in Disneyland Park and the Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park align with each respective park's opening and closing times. I was also curious about whether this was different when staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel with access to early park entry. I called and chatted with a friendly Cast Member who shared that both locations aren't open until the official park opening time. They did share that there is a Guest Relations window outside of the parks on the California Adventure side (closer to the Harbor Blvd. entrance) where they might be able to help before park opening time, but not confirmed. We haven't tried renting the device at this location, so I unfortunately cannot confirm either, but it may be worth exploring.

We really enjoy using Disney's Handheld Device during our visits. We use it for the Audio Description and it really helps give my husband a fully immersive experience on various attractions. There is a list of attractions and locations where Assistive Listening and Handheld Captioning are offered throughout the resort along with other services you may find helpful. He will usually bring a pair of his own headphones (with a standard headphone jack) to use with the device for ease and comfort. A quick tip: at the end of the day, you can return the device at either park regardless of where you initially rented the device. This is especially helpful when you are park hopping and aren't exactly sure about where (which park) you will be ending your day.

Drew, I hope this information is helpful and gives you what you need for you and your girlfriend to have the best Disney day! If there's anything else that you might be curious about before your visit, please come back to ask us. Here's wishing you a magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.
