Hello Randy!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney and asking a great question! I love questions about the amazing
Walt Disney World Transportation System! The
Disney Skyliner has become my favorite method of gliding above the ground to get to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot. I have to tell you that Disney Skyliner is an attraction to me! Often, I ride it with no particular destination in mind making a loop from Disney's Pop Century Resort back to Disney's Pop Century Resort like I did on my October 2021 Walt Disney World vacation.
Yes, you can ride Disney's Skyliner without being a Guest of a Walt Disney World Resort because the Disney Skyliner is a complimentary service to all Guests. I would encourage you to ride the Skyliner to experience it, and you get a bonus if you eat at one of the Resorts on the Disney Skyliner route! The Walt Disney World Resorts that have Disney Skyliner Stations are:
Disney's Riviera Resort
Disney's Art of Animation Resort
Disney's Pop Century Resort
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
Typically, the Disney Skyliner operates for up to an hour after Disney's Hollywood Studios is scheduled to close on that particular day. Remember that park hours can vary day to day or during different seasons. At the Skyliner stations, there should be signs alerting Guests to when the Skyliner is closing on that day (the time of the last Skyliner flight will be displayed near the entrances to Skyliner stations), according to my experiences. You can also ask a Cast Member at any Skyliner station, and they will be able to let you know the closing time for that day. You need to make sure that your meal is finished before the Skyliner stops operation on that day so you can make it back to Disney's Hollywood Studios to get back to your vehicle.
I hope that you have an incredible Walt Disney World vacation!
