Are guest still allowed to ride with the driver on the monorail??? When i was little (20+yeaes ago) I know we where able to??

Hey there, Kevin. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I see that your trip is just around the corner, I bet you are getting so excited.

My daughter and I love watching the monorail pull into the station while at Walt Disney World. We make it a point to wave to the driver each and every time. It's thrilling for her when she gets a wave back. Unfortunately, now that is the closest she'll get to seeing the front of the monorail. Due to safety concerns, Guests are no longer allowed to ride up front with the driver.

Something fun my daughter and I enjoy doing is collecting the Transportation Trading Cards that Cast Members on the buses, trams, boats and monorails have. Each card has a fun fact, trivia questions and picture of a character on them. There are about 30 total cards to collect but it's not as easy as you may think. Sometimes Cast Members will hand you a stack of them and then other times they won't have any at all. My daughter enjoys collecting these cards but I think she likes the interaction with the Cast Members the most. It's a fun way to chit chat with other people and pass the time while waiting for transportation.

    Enjoy your trip!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
