How does Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind work during the After Hours Event? Is it still a virtual que? What time do I need to enter it?

Hey there Carrie, and welcome to planDisney!

Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind has to be one of my absolute favorite attractions at Walt Disney World Resort; in fact my husband and I made it the grand finale to our Disney Fairy Tale Wedding as a VIP ride mix-in just for us and our wedding guests at the end of the night! As you likely already know, it's also one of those rides that limit your chances to experience it during your visit as it requires the dexterity and patience of snagging a spot in a Virtual Queue or the purchase of an Individual Lightning Lane entry in order to strap in and save the Galaxy!

However, things do become a little different for those intrepid planDisney after dark guests seeking some late-night adventure with admission to Disney After Hours at EPCOT. At the present time, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind utilizes the Standby Queue during Disney After Hours events, with wait times that vary throughout the evening and sometimes reaching over an hour at the busiest period! You'll be intrigued to hear that fellow honorary Guardians of the Galaxy were even able to ride several times throughout their recent After Hours experience, if that's the way that you'd like to make the most of your limited time! (While offerings and policies may always be subject to change without prior notice, the way that this is currently operating allows guests the opportunity to hop back in as many times as they're willing to wait in the queue for in the hope of getting a different song with every ride.)

As a bit of an extra Princely Pick, Tip or Trick the friendly Cast Members who operated the attraction for our wedding let us in on a few bits of Xandarian knowledge that would take our experience to the next level. Due to the nature of the backwards launch at the beginning of the ride experience and the forces you'll feel throughout, the best seats in their opinion (and definitely ours as well) are in rows 9 and 10; you can let the Cast Member sorting guests prior to loading that you have a preference for these seats and they may direct you to the specially designated waiting area on the platform!

I hope you come back here to planDisney for more nifty knowledge and advice ahead of your next Disney Adventure Carrie; I hope you have just as much fun as Dave Bautista (Drax) did on his first ride!

Wishing you all the best on your quest to save the Galaxy after Dark!
