My GS troop is coming to Disney for the GS convention in July. Unfortunately, all the rooms in the convention block are sold out. We are trying to figure out the best resort to stay in to be able to easily get to the Coronado. Price does matter.

Hi JoAnne, and welcome to planDisney!

A Girl Scout convention at Walt Disney World Resort! What an excellent time to gather and enjoy those who are there for the same reasons as you, and to top it off, you get to enjoy that time with your family! I call that a win!

The good news is that it doesn’t matter where on the Walt Disney World Resort property you choose to enjoy your stay; it will be close to where you need to go. I am a fan of the following resorts: Disney All-Star Resorts, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort in The Little Mermaid Standard Room, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. All of the above are viable options that your family will enjoy, and the costs are reasonable.

No matter which resort to choose, you can utilize the available Disney Bus Transportation, and though you won’t be able to be transported from resort to resort, you could hop the bus to one of the theme parks or Disney Springs and then transfer to the bus that takes you to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Another option would be to use one of the smartphone rideshare mobile apps or even the Minnie Van Service, which is a fun way to be transported. In this case, I recommend possibly renting a car (unless you will have access to a vehicle); that way, you can get to the resort for the events without waiting.

    Have a magical time!
