Can a grown up make their own costume and wear it to dinner or to the parks? Somewhere between an actual costume and disney bounding,?

Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo and hello to you Curt!

Dressing up as your favorite Characters is a fun way of expressing your appreciation for them. The Walt Disney World Resort does have a set of attire policies that I recommend checking out before wearing your planned outfit. If you are looking to wear a costume to the parks I suggest purchasing a ticket to a Special Event. The costume guidelines for events such as; Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and Disney Villains After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park, offer a little more flexibility to those Guests wishing to dress up.

I have found that the best way to “dress up” on a regular park day is to Bound. Bounding means to piece together traditional clothing items that when worn together, can serve as a recognizable tribute to a Character. You can take a look at these Guests who had bounded as their favorite Star Wars Characters for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. There you will even find an idea of what's permitted and what's not!

I hoped this has helped Curt! If you find that you have more questions as you continue to plan for your trip, be sure to visit us here again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We love to hEAR about all your past and upcoming visits!

Hi! I'm Shantel from Arizona. I am a mom of two and a military wife. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey-shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for and I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical! Learn More About Shantel
