Kate, it is always fun to see a question from a fellow Texan. I am glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. My almost teenager is already beginning to have a "hollow leg", himself. So, I completely understand your request for some
great snack locations. Here are a few of my favorites for each theme park.
In Magic Kingdom, Gaston's Tavern in Fantasyland has some of the yummiest warm cinnamon rolls. Over in Liberty Square, there is a scrumptious waffle sandwich filled with fruit and chocolate hazelnut spread. It is amazing. You can also find savory stuffed pretzels there, too.
Sommerfest in the Germany pavilion at Epcot has hearty bratwurst, warm hand rolled pretzels and black forest cake. I love grabbing a snack there and enjoying the outdoor seating while people-watching by the fountain. In the Norway pavilion, Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe has some of the best pastries in all of Walt Disney World, in my opinion. My favorite is the Schoolbread, a cardamom pastry filled with custard and topped with coconut.
Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Min & Bill's Dockside Diner near Echo Lake has some of the best milkshakes and pretzel rolls, perfect for afternoon snacking.
Tame his wild appetite with egg rolls or chicken fried rice at Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafe in Asia at Disney's Animal Kingdom. You can also find unique ice cream desserts at Tamu Tamu Refreshments, a walk-up window quick service location in Africa.
Last, but certainly not least, is my favorite snack of all. The Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney's Beach Club Resort. It is exactly as it states, everything BUT the kitchen sink, which it happens to be served in. A scoop of every flavor ice cream offered there with all the toppings. My family of five could barely finish it, but it was sure fun to try.
Bon Appetit
