Aloha, Andres! I’m so happy to welcome you to planDisney! October is one of my favorite times of the year to visit Walt Disney World Resort. Between the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, the festive fall decor, and the beautiful weather, you have an absolutely magical vacation in store!
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is an amazing choice! It’s more than just a place to grab a fun drink. Think of it as part tiki bar, part Disney attraction all rolled into one. It’s a fan favorite and full of surprises! At the
parking entrance for
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you will need to tell the security guard that you intend to visit the lounge at Trader Sam’s for drinks. It will be at the discretion of the security officer whether you will be able to enter the parking area, as parking is often limited and reserved for resort Guests and those with advance dining reservations. Since you will not have a dining reservation, I would recommend taking a rideshare, such as Lyft. In fact, that is probably the easiest and most stress-free option. If you are denied entry to the parking lot, the next best option will be to have your driver drop you off next door at the Transportation & Ticket Center. From there, you can take a short walk to the Polynesian (which is about 10 minutes) or you can hop on the monorail. Either way, you’ll be sipping on a fun tiki cocktail before you know it!
My biggest tip for you is to remember that Trader Sam’s is as much about the experience as it is about the food and drinks. Be sure to watch everything going on around you because the atmosphere is filled with Disney magic! Certain drink orders trigger various fun surprises, so you will get to enjoy those special moments even when others order. You never know when the whole room might spring to life!
Andres, I hope your visit to Walt Disney World is filled with many magical moments! If you have any more questions, be sure to come back and see us. We’re always here at planDisney to help add the extra pixie dust that makes your vacation even more magical!
Sending warm island wishes,
Casey
