Hello, I have a group of 11 trying to get a reservation at plaza point for the character dining. It looks like you cannot get a reservation for a party greater than 5 people. We can absolutely split up to a group of 5 and a group of 6. Any ideas?

Hi there, Mackezie and welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by with your question. I’m excited to see that you have an upcoming trip planned this month. My niece’s birthday actually falls on the same day as your arrival, and we’re celebrating at the Happiest Place on Earth too! Let’s get your dining plans sorted so you and your party can enjoy all that character dining has to offer.

When you visit the Plaza Inn dining page, you may notice that reservation availability on your selected date is limited to parties of about 4 or 5 Guests. If your heart is set on dining at Plaza Inn, I recommend checking the reservation page frequently, as openings can appear when other Guests adjust or cancel their plans. I’ve personally had success securing last-minute reservations this way, especially when I’m trying to accommodate a larger party.

However, if you’re set on character dining but open to exploring other restaurants on property, I’d be happy to point you in the right direction! As a toddler mom, character dining is one of my favorites. It keeps my little one entertained, and the buffet-style meals are especially helpful for all kinds of eaters. I love being able to sit down and enjoy a hearty meal before heading into the theme parks, while skipping the long waits since the characters come right to your table. The interactions are always unforgettable and such a fun way to kick off a magical park day.

Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel and Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa both offer character dining for breakfast, with reservations available as early as 7:00 a.m. At this time on your selected date, availability appears more promising when splitting your party of 11 into smaller groups at either location. Be sure to take a look at the menus to see which option best suits your party. I highly recommend reserving as soon as possible! Before you know it, you’ll be feasting with Goofy and his pals or laughing along at Chip and Dale’s silly antics. Either way, I know you’re going to have a grand time!

Mackezie, I hope this was helpful to you as you continue to plan your upcoming visit. If you have any more questions before then, planDisney is always here to help!
