How can our group get tender tickets for a private tour at the Grand Caymans? We will be sailing on the Treasure.

Ahoy there Candy, and welcome aboard planDisney!

There's really nothing quite like experiencing that sweet smell of paradise on a Disney Cruise Line vacation, and for many folks getting off the ship for the first time can daunting when it's a port that requires tenders to reach the shore. At the time of writing, the Disney Treasure has yet to officially embark on her inaugural maiden voyage (with guests who aren't Cast Members, media or invited influencers) and there currently aren't any specifics available about how the tendering process will proceed on those first 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruises from Port Canaveral with a ship this size in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. I can however, provide you with some insight into how tendering typically works so that you have an idea of what to expect before you set sail:

    • When it comes to sailing to Grand Cayman, ships tend to anchor a fair distance away from the port of George Town while guests are brought back and forth on smaller local boats providing tendering services. Guests are typically directed to wait with their entire party at a designated location on board (such as the Walt Disney Theatre) where tickets may be distributed before being instructed on where to board their tender. After a certain time there may be a call for "open tenders" when guests are no longer required to wait in a designated area and may proceed down directly to waiting boats, though in my experience this is often when a significant number of guests have already debarked by the afternoon.
    • If however your private tour is something you're booking independently and not through Disney Cruise Line as a Port Adventure, you'll have to wait until you're on board to receive the most accurate information about the tendering process (as well as any ticket distribution information) since this can often be subject to change depending on the voyage.

All Ashore times are currently anticipated for 10:30 A.M. and All Aboard times expected for 5:30 P.M. on the upcoming Disney Treasure itineraries to Grand Cayman and I would personally caution against the risk of booking any excursions independently until I've had a chance to observe what the experience is like for guests on those first sailings.

Wishing you all the best as you prepare to set sail on the Disney Treasure!
