Hi Marylou! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney and for your question about planning a magical multigenerational vacation!
My husband and I often travel to Walt Disney World with our children and our moms, and let me tell you, there’s nothing more heartwarming than watching our parents experience the magic through the eyes of their grandchildren. Those shared moments quickly become some of our most treasured memories.
On your arrival day, you’ll be glad to know that guests staying at Disney Resort hotels currently receive complimentary admission to either
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park! I recommend checking the
My Disney Experience app closer to your travel date to see which water park is open, and whether you’ll have time to enjoy a few hours of fun. My mom loves relaxing in the lazy river.
If you’d prefer to keep your arrival day more laid-back, consider taking on a Disney Transportation Challenge! You can hop on a bus to
Magic Kingdom, then ride the Resort Monorail Loop to visit
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa,
Polynesian Village Resort, and
Contemporary Resort. Each has its own unique charm and decor. Be sure to grab a Dole Whip from
Pineapple Lanai while at the Polynesian!
Other fun, relaxing, and outdoor options include:
Miniature Golf at either Winter Summerland (near Blizzard Beach) or Fantasia Gardens (near the EPCOT Resort Area).
A leisurely afternoon at Disney Springs for shopping and dining. It’s perfect for all ages.
Visiting
Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, where you can meet the horses that work at Magic Kingdom.
A stroll around Disney's Boardwalk takes you to Atlantic City! You can also hitch a ride around on a Friendship Boat!
No matter how you decide to spend your arrival and departure day, you’re sure to find a little extra pixie dust. Let me know if you'd like ideas for your first park day, too!
Wishing you the most magical multigenerational vacation!
Toodles,
Korliss
