Is there a group size where you should plan to call the restaurant to make dining reservations instead of making them on the app?

    Hey there, Steven!

I'm so happy to welcome you to planDisney, and thanks for bringing such a delicious question our way! As Chef Remy wisely said, "If you are what you eat, then I only want to eat the good stuff!" It sounds like you're planning to do exactly that during your Walt Disney World vacation!

Traveling with a large group makes for unforgettable memories, especially when everyone can gather around the table for a great meal. That said, I know securing dining reservations for a larger party can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. The good news is there are some strategies that can help, and I'm happy to share my favorite tips to help make your dining plans practically perfect in every way!

While there isn't a magic party size that determines when it's best to call for dining reservations, I often find that calling can be especially helpful for larger groups of 10 or more. You can speak with a Cast Member directly by calling (407) 939-3463, and they may be able to assist with finding availability that isn't as easy to coordinate online.

Another strategy I use quite often is booking multiple reservations for smaller groups. Since each Guest can only hold one reservation for a specific dining location and time, another member of your party would need to make the additional reservation (or reservations, if your group needs to be split into more than two tables).

When making multiple reservations, try to schedule them as close together as possible. Then, when you arrive at the restaurant, let the host know that you're all part of the same group and would love to be seated together. While seating requests can never be guaranteed, I've had great success with this approach, and Cast Members always do their very best to accommodate these requests whenever possible.

Steven, it looks like you're officially within your dining reservation booking window, so I'll let you get to planning those delicious meals! I hope you're able to snag all of your top picks. If any other questions pop up as you continue planning your vacation, you're always welcome to stop by and visit us again here at planDisney.
