I have a group of 9. I purchased all the tickets and we all have Genie+--it's our first time using Genie+. Months ago, I linked all the tickets in my account and named them. How do I give each person control of their ticket/genie+?

    Hey, howdy, hey, Mashell!

It sounds like you have a great plan going into a wonderful springtime visit to the Disneyland Resort. My family won’t be too far behind you in our trek to The Happiest Place on Earth soon. Although it is still possible for a single person to manage the eTickets of their whole party, I’ll share with you how I have distributed our theme park admission with members of our family. That way, others in your party may also help with displaying tickets for park entry, booking Lightning Lane return times with the Disney Genie+ service, and scanning in passes at Lightning Lane entrances.

Here are the steps other members of your party may use to link a theme park ticket or Magic Key pass to their account.

    1. Ask them to download the latest version of the Disneyland mobile app to their mobile device.
    2. Have them log into their own Disneyland Resort account, creating a new account, if necessary.
    3. You will locate the Disney eTicket ID they will be linking. You can find the ID on the Tickets and Passes screen of the Disneyland mobile app, accessed from the ☰ feature menu.
    4. Send them the ticket ID number or a screenshot of the barcode and ticket ID.
    5. They link a ticket from the Tickets and Passes screen of the app on their phone by tapping the “Link Tickets & Passes” button. If the button isn’t displayed, they can tap the ‘+’ symbol in the upper right corner of the Tickets and Passes screen.
    6. They will then select “Type ID” to use the device keyboard to manually enter the ticket ID or use select “Camera” to automatically scan the ticket barcode. Using the camera to scan barcodes is especially convenient if you are sharing tickets with others in person.

Note that Disney eTicket IDs may be updated to a new number after a ticket is activated at a park entrance for the first time. So if someone didn’t get a chance to link a ticket before the ticket was activated, you may need to share with them the new ticket ID. Also, when a ticket is activated, a photo is taken of the Guest using that ticket. So each Guest must use the same ticket throughout their visit.

Tony’s Tip: If you share a ticket by messaging a screenshot of the ticket from the app, they can choose to display the screenshot for park entry, even without linking it to their account in the Disneyland app. Some Guests set the ticket barcode screenshot as their phone’s lock screen image for rapid access. Another helpful feature of some phones is the ability to detect and copy text from an image. This is handy to copy the ticket ID for easy pasting into the Disneyland app when linking a ticket.

You are visiting the Disneyland Resort at a great time. Besides the ongoing Disney100 Celebration, you can also experience seasonal experiences, including the traditional Eggstravaganza egg hunt.

    Have a magical time, Mashell!
