My group and I are planning to stay in one of the cabins, and the cabin has a grill outside. If we want to do a BBQ outside of our cabin is there a place that we can purchase our meat and other BBQ items?

Making your own meals adds another memory-maker to your Disney vacation.  And our family LOVES to cook out when we stay at Fort Wilderness!

Keep in mind that the Meadows Trading Post and the Settlement at the resort both have "stores" but they carry mostly convenience items. You CAN purchase charcoal, hotdogs and even buns, but not ribs or brisket for a barbecue.

I don't want to assume that because you're from Washington you won't have a car, but if you don't, you might want to check out They provide a grocery delivery service that is cheaper than renting a cab to the local grocery store outside the resort. My fellow Walt Disney World Moms Panelist Kay B has used them on two trips, so you might want to ask her a question about her experience via her bio page.

If you do have a car, the closest store will be Publix off toll road SR 429, at the Hwy 192 exit.
    It's exact address is:
    14928 E Orange Lake Blvd
    Kissimmee, FL 34747-8210

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
