Hiya Abhishek,
Welcome to planDisney! I am so excited to help you with your planning questions for this upcoming trip. I’ve visited Walt Disney World Resort while expecting, with a baby, and with a three-year-old, so I’m happy to share my tips with you. While I usually recommend at least 4 days when you are traveling with a toddler and while pregnant (so you have time for more breaks throughout the day), you can definitely get a lot of magic into 2 days.
So, first things first, Abhishek: I always recommend selecting theme parks that appeal to your party’s interests. If you are a Star Wars or Toy Story (looks like your toddler is tall enough for Slinky Dog Dash) super fan, then you will have to stop at
Hollywood Studios, for example. But if you are looking for theme parks I would recommend for those expecting and for toddlers, my favorite two are
Magic Kingdom and
EPCOT. Magic Kingdom has the most attractions that are friendly for all ages, heights, and pregnancy bumps. EPCOT, while it doesn’t have as many attractions as Magic Kingdom, is very snack-friendly (which is excellent when you are pregnant). EPCOT also has some of my favorite playgrounds for toddlers to run off steam. I also have a toddler who is obsessed with Frozen, so she always makes us stop by Frozen Ever After. Now, as I mentioned, if the toddler or anyone else in your party has a specific interest, I definitely think you can substitute another theme park. Animal lovers will adore Animal Kingdom (but there aren’t as many attractions that are friendly for bumps or toddlers). That said, no matter which theme parks you select, I know you will have a magical time with some preparation. Once you choose your theme parks (and purchase theme park tickets), take a look at the
rides and entertainment webpage and make note of the attractions you must ride. There is a lot to do, but in my experience, the best days are when you prioritize all your must-dos, and whatever else you can get in is a bonus (especially with a toddler). Next, decide whether you want to make dining reservations or purchase
Lightning Lane passes (both are optional, but with pregnant Guests and toddlers, they can be a real asset). Once you’ve done that, you can start mocking up a mock plan for your day. Make sure you include plenty of breaks throughout the day. We love staying at a resort hotel when I’m expecting or when we visit with our littles, because it makes taking breaks much easier. We can get in naps for the kids in the room (although we are good at also napping on the go) and even pool time.
I know this might have been a lot, but I hope this was a helpful place to start, Abhishek. I’m happy to continue helping you plan your other details as more questions arise. Before I let you go, I did want to share one final tip. Did you know that you can bring in refillable water bottles and snacks when you visit the theme parks? When I was pregnant, my refillable water bottles were a lifesaver, especially while waiting in line! And my toddler tends to be a picky snacker, so we always make sure to bring her snacks and drinks in our theme park bag to keep her happy throughout the day. If you need anything else, please come back and see us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
