We have a group of 17 people and we’re planning on using Genie+. How will this work since we have a group larger than 12? How will we need to go about making sure we are getting to ride together? Or is this possible?

Hiya, Lindsey, and welcome to planDisney! You must be getting so excited for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation - it will be here in just a few short weeks and you’ll be eating DOLE Whip and singing along with the Happily Ever After Fireworks show in no time!

I just love traveling to the Most Magical Place on Earth with a large party. My most recent visit included 18 family members spanning three generations and an age range of over 60 years! When we planned our days each morning, we made sure to communicate our preferences and priorities for Disney Genie+ Service selections and Virtual Queues. Some days, it was easier to let two people manage the bookings for the group, and split the group into two smaller groups. Other days, we split even further, into three or four groups. No matter how many people were making the selections, we always made them at the same time, for the same attraction. Since your selected time will be a window, you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting overlapping times for each group.

Another way we were able to manage our large group was by making separate Advance Dining Reservations at table service restaurants at the same time. If you do this, you’ll find a lot more availability than you would for a party of 17. Certain dining locations will be able to accommodate a large party like yours, so just let the Cast Member know that you’d like to sit close together if possible when you check in. Even if you aren’t all able to sit together at each meal, this will keep your group on the same schedule. You can also place Mobile Food & Beverage Orders in advance, so that all you need to do when you arrive and pick up your food, is find a few tables close together!

Lindsey, I hope this is helpful to you as you prepare for your exciting visit. Please stop back by planDisney with any other vacation planning questions you have as you continue your countdown to arrival!

     See you real soon!
