If I have a group of 7 people and we are all linked together on one, MDE acct with our tickets, Genie plus etc. Are we able to split up and still use Genie plus while 2 groups are at separate parks or going on different rides. How does this work ?

    Hello Ashley!

Welcome back to planDisney. I'm happy to help as you prepare for your September visit.

I'm glad to hear your travel party is already linked to your My Disney Experience Account. Your group will be able to divide into smaller groups when selecting Lightning Lane entries via Disney Genie+ Service or even visit separate parks. You can manage all Genie+ selections for both smaller groups, but this might get tedious if you plan to be at different parks and/or experience different attractions for the length of your trip. You'll also want to be sure everyone has a MagicMobile Pass or MagicBand+ linked to their tickets, as they won't be able to access their admission without you present if the tickets are only stored on your phone. I'd recommend taking a few extra steps to ensure everyone has access to their tickets and account details. Let's walk through the process.

When I visit with my family I manage the plans for both of my children. They are too young to have their own My Disney accounts but they appear as "Profile Managed by You" on my Family & Friends list. My husband has his own account but because we are connected via our Family & Friends lists, we can see one another's tickets and both manage plans like advance dining reservations, Genie+ selections and enter Virtual Queues for our family. My kids can easily access the plans I made on their behalf using their linked MagicBand+, but once they are old enough to have their own accounts I'll invite them to join in the planning. This will be helpful as they choose different experiences and will simplify my keeping watch on return times, booking windows, etc for multiple attractions, experiences and even parks throughout the day.

If the members of your travel party all show as "Profile Managed by You" on your list, you can easily share planning with them. Simply navigate to your Family & Friends list and click the settings button next to their name. Once there, click the "Share Planning With..." link and input the email address associated with their account on the following screen. If they do not have an existing account the email invitation should prompt them to create one. Once they approve the request, their tickets and other plans you've made for them will transfer to their MyDisney Account. They will be able to view and co-manage existing plans for the trip, and make new plans like Genie+ selections or purchase Individual Lightning Lane entries for you and other members of your group.

You can complete this process for all guests and then be sure they are all connected to one another. You can also share planning with another lead guest who will split off with the smaller travel party during your visit. Just be sure to connect them to any managed profiles on your account following the steps outlined here.

I hope this helps, Ashley. If you need further assistance please come back and let us know or reach out to a Cast Member by phone, who would be happy to assist with the process and troubleshoot any issues.

    Magic and memories,
