Hiya, pal! Thanks for bringing your vacation question to planDisney! I know what it’s like to plan a big Walt Disney World vacation. I traveled to Walt Disney World last year with 15 people (including 4 toddlers!) so I’ve been there, done that, and I’m ready to help!
With such a large group, your best option is to
call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line (or the Group Reservations line if you think you’ll be reserving 10 or more rooms). A friendly Cast Member will walk you through your options and get you all the information you need to compare vacation packages.
Visiting Walt Disney World with a large group takes a bit of extra planning, but it really is a magical experience. The biggest lesson from my big family trip was the importance of open communication and setting expectations before our visit. What are people’s “must-do” experiences? What are they most excited about? For example, my dad’s #1 Disney vacation goal was to ride
Pirates of the Caribbean with our entire crew of scoundrels, so we made sure to coordinate and make it happen. For other parts of our trip, we split up the group so the older kids could enjoy the thrill rides and the little ones could do something more their speed.
My other big group travel tip is in regard to
dining. We found it difficult to get table service reservations all together so we ended up making 2 or 3 separate reservations for similar times. Then we talked to the Cast Member at the host stand an hour before our reservation to see if we could be seated near each other. They were often able to accommodate our request with advance notice, but I’m sure it varies by location and demand.
Best of luck with your big Walt Disney World adventure! You can always pop back to planDisney if you have more group planning questions.
