Hello Letisha!
Welcome to planDisney! Dining plans are back and I'm excited that you are considering it for your family! The
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan allows guests two Quick-Service Meals and one Snack/Nonalcoholic drink per night of stay along with one Resort-Refillable Drink Mug. It is a great way to pre-pay for the meals that you are already eating on your trip and includes a variety of
dining locations and options. You are allotted "meals" so even if your meal is from the allergy-friendly menu it is considered a meal. The dining plan won't cover certain enhancements you make such as adding cheese sauce to that meal. It may make that cheese sauce a snack from your plan. When checking out with
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering or in-person make sure to check the details about how you are using your meals and snacks.
When using the dining plan while having allergies the best strategy is to speak to a Cast Member before ordering your food. This does mean that Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering may not be the best option for you as the Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order menu is available only at certain locations. For example, my favorite Quick-Service dining location,
Columbia Harbour House is one of those locations but The Friar's Nook is not. When you open up the Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering menu for Columbia Harbour House there is an icon on the top that is a green triangle with a fork inside it. Once you select it you will see a large selection of food items that are categorized by allergy. Peruse the menu items now with your party and see if anything looks delicious to them! Since you have some people with multiple allergies or dietary needs I suggest you not use Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering but speak to a Cast Member in person when ordering so that a Special Diets Trained Cast Member can assist. When dining with allergies,
Walt Disney World Resort recommends guests choose larger food service establishments that have larger kitchens that can accommodate you safely such as Columbia Harbour House and Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Magic Kingdom Park. There is also Connections Eatery and Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue in EPCOT, ABC Commissary, and Backlot Express at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Flame Tree Barbecue and Restaurantosaurus at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. For your friend who is vegan and unable to eat gluten I found on the allergy-friendly menu at
Flame Tree Barbecue," Impossible™ Burnt Ends" which is gluten/wheat allergy-friendly and plant-based.
Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue has a BBQ Jackfruit Burger that is a plant-based burger on special gluten/wheat allergy-friendly garlic toast topped with more plant-based toppings and spreads.
ABC Commissary has a California Burger that is gluten/wheat allergy-friendly and also plant-based. I also suggest you contact Walt Disney World Resort at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com about 14 days before you arrive to let them know about your party's varied dietary restrictions and allergies.
I hope this helps! Happy Planning!
