We are group of 16 3 families with kids 5-16(9) what are some thoughts on how to do genie + LL and rides in general.. Hopefully we also with have DAS also Thanks

    Hey Chris!

Welcome back to planDisney! We have not seen you in a while and I'm glad to see your return back to us means a whole lot of fun! I once planned a trip for 13 family members and boy, was it memorable!

First, with a group this size, the best way to manage your plans together is to link yourselves together by adding everyone to your Family and Friends list. Simply "Add a Guest" and find all of the other guests. Children can be added as well without needing a Disney Account. It's great that everyone can now share their plans, and book Dining Reservations and activities together.

Disability Access Service or DAS as you already know is for those who have difficulty waiting in a prolonged queue due to a disability. You can now pre-register for DAS and set up DAS Advance between 2 to 30 days before your arrival. Make sure you log in to your My Disney Experience account and request a virtual chat with a Cast Member who will ask you a few questions. Once you have been approved for DAS you can use DAS Advance planning to set up 2 one-hour return windows for select available experiences before you even arrive! You can then make more return time requests throughout your Park day when you arrive. These return times will be set up in your My Disney Experience App. DAS is only valid for the person who needs the DAS service plus five guests. They don't have to be the same guests every time but it's limited to five.

The DAS service almost functions like Genie+ in that time slots are being booked for the day with access to the same Lightning Lane entrances. My strategy is to consider Genie+ for those who won't be under the DAS group. I would then book Lightning Lane times that overlap the DAS return time slot so that everyone can ride together! Make sure when managing this many people to have alarms set on your phone so that you don't miss your return times and book your next Lightning Lane and/or DAS at the right time. It may seem overwhelming but if you are all linked and keep a portable charger on hand you and your phone will make your Walt Disney World Vacation a smooth experience.

I would also look into Rider Switch as you have some very young kids in your group that may not be tall enough or too scared to ride an experience. My tip is to pre-measure the children before you come and make sure to check out ride height requirements as it can be sad to have a little one measured and denied entry in front of their family. On my last trip, my nephew was so disappointed and inconsolable when he was found too short. Learn from my mistakes.

I hope that after all this work you get treated to a special day of relaxing by the pool with a refreshing drink!

Have a wonderful time and if you need more help let me know!

My husband and I work very hard to journey to our favorite place on Earth, Walt Disney World Resort, as much as we can. We have traveled as just adults, with babies, kids, teenagers, and senior citizens. We have seen so many characters, eaten at amazing places, and consumed a ton of Dole Whips. So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
