I have a group of 7(4 adults, 3 kids). One adult in our group will have to utilize a scooter/wheelchair due to mobility issues, they can’t stand for long periods. What is the best way to ensure our group can get on the rides at the same times?

    Hey Nicole,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m glad you’re here with this thoughtful question. I often bring my mom to Walt Disney World and she also uses an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) during each visit, so I know that getting the information you need ahead of your trip is super important. I am very happy to help!

You’ll be thrilled to hear that many of the attraction queues at the parks in Disney World can handle ECVs. Your party will not need to do anything special in most cases. However, some attractions (such as “it’s a small world” in Magic Kingdom) have alternate entrances for guests using ECVs or wheelchairs. In instances where this is the case, the cast members managing the attraction queues will have your party stay together and travel with the ECV or wheelchair guest to the accessible entrance. No one gets separated or left behind as long as you’re all together when you enter the accessible entrance.

While you’re here, I want to be sure to share Disney World’s Services for Guests with Mobility Needs page. This page has been a great planning resource for me when I plan my family’s trips. It provides you with helpful lists of attractions that are fully accessible for wheelchairs and ECVs as well as those that will require a transfer from an ECV to a ride vehicle or wheelchair. This information will help you plan so you know exactly what to expect. There are also several helpful resources to be found on Disney World’s Accessibility home page. Disney makes traveling and enjoying attractions with mobility needs super convenient for guests throughout the resort.

I hope this information is helpful, Nicole. If you need any additional planning help swing by and visit planDisney again. See ya real soon!
