We have a group of 6 adults and 6 children ranging in age from 4 - 11. arriving 1-15-2010. We are booked at the Port of Orleans resort and will arrive in the afternoon. With the day half over what do you suggest that we do that to start our vacation.

    Terry:

One of the best amenities at Port Orleans is its boat to Downtown Disney--best of all, it's free.  I would take full advantage of it and enjoy the ride down the Sassagoula River to the shopping and entertainment district!  Don't miss the Lego shop if you've got boys, and if you're there for a reunion or other special occasion, consider visiting the Design-a-Tee shop where you can create personalized t-shirts for the group to wear one day at the parks!

If you've got the Water Parks & More option on your tickets you can enjoy DisneyQuest.  If not, try out the new helium balloon ride that sits in the middle of the Downtown Disney area.  Our family's newest favorite restaurant is T-Rex.  I heartily recommend getting reservations and enjoying a fun meal--with an extensive, delicious menu--together while you're there!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
