Hi Jeffrey,
It sounds like you are planning or thinking about a stay at one of my favorite Resorts at Walt Disney World,
Disney's Beach Club Resort. From the whimsical beach-theming, enviable location on picturesque Crescent Lake just a short boat ride or walk away from both
Epcot and
Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the fantastic Stormalong Bay pool, there's always been a lot to love about this fantastic Resort.
Jeffrey, while personal preferences and opinions can vary regarding ground level rooms, I personally enjoy having easy access to the outside world by simply stepping outside onto my patio. While balcony accessibility and configurations vary significantly at Disney's Beach Club Resort for rooms above ground level, for the most part rooms on the first floor will enjoy spacious patios with sitting room for two chairs.
In terms of view, there are three booking categories, including standard view, garden or woods view, and lagoon or pool view. My personal preference is for a room on the outer eastern side of the Resort, closest to Epcot. These rooms are remarkably close to Epcot, which can be reached by taking a short, 5 minute stroll along Crescent Lake to the International Gateway entrance to the Park, which is located between the France and United Kingdom Pavilions.
Jeffrey, I hope this information was helpful. If you have any other specific questions regarding ground level rooms at Disney's Beach Club Resort, please be sure to return and send us a follow up question. We are here to help and want you to have the best possible Disney vacation!
