Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kaci! This is a great question for extended families; when you and your partner are visiting with nieces and nephews, you’ll be surprised how many rides are perfect for the whole gang.
Most of the attractions in
Magic Kingdom, as well as a handful in Epcot have no height requirement. I was able to take my infant on Small World, Peter Pan’s Flight, Journey of the Little Mermaid and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin with no issues. Rides such as Goofy’s Barnstormer and
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, however you must be 35-38” tall to ride, which is the approximate height range of a preschooler, which makes a “
Kindermoon” a great time for a first Walt Disney World Resort vacation. In turn, I like to think of 40” being another one of the height tiers to ride many Disney rides, such as Tower of Terror and Star Tours, and 48” being the tallest tier for daring rides like Primeval Whirl (don’t eat anything before you brave this twirler!) and
Aerosmith’s Rock 'n’ Roller Coaster! Now, if you have a super tall member of your family, like my well over 6’ brother, you may want to think twice about snug rides like Astro Orbiter. The rockets appear to seat two, but tall guest will want to ride solo for extra leg room!
If you have more questions about planning your next trip (I know you would have a BLAST during Food & Wine Festival) please let me know. I’m hEAR to help you choose a Resort and more! ~ Lindsey P.
