    Greetings from a fellow native Granite Stater and UNH alum. We are traveling in September and are booked at POR (3 rooms) for budgetary reasons. I would love for my kids to be able to stay at the Contemporary, have you ever heard of a resort upgrade?

    Hi Michael,

    Thanks for your question!  I'm sorry to report that resort upgrades are extremely rare.  Last year they were doing some upgrades to Saratoga Springs Resort, and I'm guessing it was an attempt to promote the Disney Vacation Club.  Other than that, you will rarely hear of resort upgrades.  You would be more likely to have a room upgrade (from standard view to water view), but again there is no guarantee.

    If you are really interested in a deluxe resort, I would suggest that you keep an eye out for promotions, this is typically a slower time of year so there is a greater probability that they will release discounts.  You may find a deal that will bring a deluxe into an affordable range, and Disney will modify your current reservation and apply any payments to a new one if you decide to switch. I have signed up at www.mousesavers.com and get quick notification of specials via email.
