Hello! Greetings from Buffalo, NY! Never been to DisneyLand but we have been to WDW. Wondering if Galaxy Edge is similar or smaller then WDW. Also, how is the climate and crowd level in late June? Thank You

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Natalia, you’re as welcome as can be to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We’re so glad to have you back hEAR!

What perfect timing for me to be answering your question, because I recently returned from Walt Disney World Resort, where my family and I got to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge there, and compare it to “Batuu West,” which we have experienced many times at Disneyland Resort. From my experience, I’d say that Batuu East and West are actually very similar in size and layout. There are a few differences, of course, but overall, I think you’ll find more similarities than anything else. You will notice that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios only has two entrances and exits, while the Disneyland Park version has three. Visually, you’ll notice that the color schemes are slightly different, with Walt Disney World’s version using slightly brighter, bolder hues on the rock formations and buildings, perhaps to withstand the harsher weather experienced there. Technically, both lands occupy 14-acres of space, though they’re laid out differently based on their locations. Overall, I think you’ll find that the lands are very similar, but it will also be fun to point out some subtle differences, too!

I'm happy to report that in late June, you can expect warmer weather and longer park hours. The average temperature range for the month is 60-79 degrees Fahrenheit. Entertainment typically includes additional showtimes, and fewer attractions are closed for refurbishment, too. Both parks typically open around 8:00 AM, and close around 10:00 PM (Disney California Adventure Park) or midnight (Disneyland Park). The summer crowds can vary, since most local Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders are blocked out at this time, but, summer also brings more visitors. This past summer, I visited in late June and experienced a magical day with smaller crowds, so you never know what the day will bring!

Don't forget to download the Disneyland app before your arrival at the Happiest Place on Earth! It's my favorite handy helper in the parks. I use it to make dining reservations, find Characters, check attraction wait times, utilize Disney MaxPass and Disney PhotoPass, and even mobile order food and drinks.

I hope this information helps, Natalia! Please let me know if I can help answer any additional questions… I’m all EARs!

As a mom of three kids under the age of 8, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A.
