Hello there, Glynn, and welcome to planDisney!
I am so happy that you stumbled upon our small section of the Internet. We’re super planners here at planDisney, so I love that you’re planning ahead for your visit in May. I’ve stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—French Quarter, but I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting its sister Resort hotel. What really matters is that you’re staying in the magic and adventure is always just around the river bend.
So, what exactly is there to do in May and June? First and foremost, you simply cannot miss the
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. Disney and Pixar character topiaries are in bloom (I’m crossing my fingers for the return of the Madrigal family from
Encanto), and your party can indulge in delectable treats from all over the world at the various Outdoor Kitchens. And if you like to dance the night away, you can get your groove on at the Garden Rocks Concert Series near the America Pavilion.
There could be special
Disney After Hours events, where you can stay in a specific theme park for 3 hours after it closes. The dates and theme parks have yet to be released for the time period of your visit.
AN EXTRA GEM: While staying at
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—Riverside, I hope that you take an evening or two traveling down the Sassagoula River toward
Disney Springs. This complimentary boat ride is of my favorite modes of transportation on property; it’s the perfect way to unwind after a busy day at the theme parks. Also, consider hopping over to the French Quarter side to go to Scat Cat’s Club for a delightfully messy beignet that tastes like it’s straight out of New Orleans.
I’m sending pixie dust your way, Glynn. If you have any other questions before your holiday,
reach out to us here at planDisney. We’re all ears!
Magic always,
LeAndra
